The Tibetan Collection

The Tibetan CollectionAbout Our Supportive Partnership

The Tibetan Collection is a distinctive line of modern and ancient artifacts, hand selected and blessed by Gankar Tulku Rinpoche, exclusively for our Mystic Market. A portion of the proceeds of all sales from the Tibetan Collection will help support Gankar Tulku Rinpoche’s efforts in spreading the Dharma, and supporting the Tibetan Buddhist monks of Tsulkhang Khangtsen in Mundgod, India.

Gankar Tulku Rinpoche, Tibetan Collection, AboutAt the age of 5, Gankar Tulku Lobsang Kunchok Tenzin was recognized as the third reincarnation of Gankar Tulku of Dzindu Monastery, of East Tibet. He was identified and recognized based on the interest shown by the tutor of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, in searching for this reincarnated Tulku. He was ordained as a novice monk and taught by the great Buddhist masters and teachers. In 1985 he was ordained as a monk, a Tulku, and a Rinpoche after traditional training and apprenticeship at Drepung Loseling monastary. The title “Tulku” designates Gankar Tulku Rinpoche as a "Reincarnate Lama". Rinpoche received his Geshe (Ph.D) degree in 1996, and he has traveled and taught extensively in Asia, Europe, the USA and Canada.

At the age of 10, Gankar Tulku Rinpoche entered Tsulkhang Khangtsen ("Sul-Kang" House) at the Drepung Loseling Monastery in South India. Khangtsens are living groups within the monastery with 30 or more monks living together.

In 2010, at Gankar Tulku Rinpoche's invitation, David Browning SamadhiDev lived (in silence) for 9 months at Tsulkhang Khangtsen, and during this time they traveled to various monasteries and distinguished homes throughout India, including visits to Bodh Gaya to attend teachings and empowerments by His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

This photo was taken by David Browning, SamadhiDev  in 2010, and shows 78 monks of Tsulkhang Khangtsen.
